In accordance with the guidelines of COCESNA’s Executive Presidency and within the framework of the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between COCESNA – AESA – SENASA, and the second phase of ICAO’s ACT-CORSIA initiative, the Corporation, through the Regional Management of Environment and Climate Change (GEREMAC), held the Ibero-Central American Workshop in Guatemala to strengthen capacities in the region for implementing the mechanism for carbon reduction and offsetting in the international aviation sector, CORSIA.
The activity was attended by the focal points of the Civil Aviation Authorities of COCESNA member states, air operators, accreditation bodies, verification bodies and international civil aviation organizations in the region.
Spanish experts Raúl Martin and Ignacio Hermira, ICAO-accredited CORSIA trainers, presented information to participants on monitoring plans, emissions reports and their respective verification during the three-day event.
This activity is one of a series of initiatives carried out by the corporation in line with COCESNA’s Green Book, with the primary objective of contributing to the environmental sustainability of the international airline industry in our countries.
