COCESNA through Lic. Juan Carlos Trabanino Aguirre, Executive Director – CEO and Eng. Esteban Garcia, WEA Country Manager of Vaisala Inc. for Central America, signed the “Private Contract for AWOS (Automated Weather Observing System) Upgrade Services” on January 22, 2025.
This agreement, signed between COCESNA and Vaisala Oyj, the service provider, will allow the AWOS system to be upgraded to the latest technology available, improving the accuracy and reliability of the system. In addition, new sensors will be integrated and advanced functionalities will be incorporated to optimize the provision of meteorological data. This improvement will not only increase the safety and efficiency of air operations, but will also contribute to greater operational capacity at the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport.
