On January 9, 2026, COCESNA, together with the Member State of Guatemala, inaugurated the DVOR/DME system at the Mundo Maya International Airport, a fundamental radio aid for en route and approach air navigation, as it provides aircraft with accurate heading and distance information, allowing safe, orderly and efficient operations in both visual and instrumental conditions.
This project contributes directly to improving the safety, efficiency and reliability of air navigation, benefiting civil aviation in Guatemala and the users of the system.
