From February 10 to 21 at the THALES ATM facilities in Kansas, USA, technical personnel from Honduras, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Nicaragua participated in training on the installation and maintenance of DVOR 532 and DME 500 equipment, as part of Phase IV of COCESNA’s Radio Aid Modernization Project.

During the training, aspects of operation theory, installation and the necessary works for the commissioning of such equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance activities, as well as aspects of commissioning and periodic aerial verifications were addressed.

Trained technical personnel will be involved in the installation and commissioning activities of the following radio aids:

  • VOR/DME Puerto Barrios, Guatemala
  • VOR San Pedro Sula, Honduras
  • VOR/DME Managua, Nicaragua
  • VOR/DME Mundo Maya, Guatemala
