Juan Carlos Trabanino Aguirre Executive Director – CEO together with the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Costa Rica inaugurated new Automated Weather Systems (AWOS) at the Juan Santamaría and Daniel Oduber International Airports on September 4, 2025 as part of its commitment to safety and the modernization of the regional aviation infrastructure.
The project included the installation of state-of-the-art technology, the upgrade of AVIMET-VAISALA hardware and software, as well as the implementation of new servers, workstations and licenses, ensuring efficient integration with existing systems.
During the opening ceremony, the authorities emphasized that this initiative not only represents a technological advance, but also a firm commitment to operational safety, innovation and the quality of service offered to airlines, crews and passengers.
