Within the framework of the cooperation between COCESNA and AVIANCA, the new RNP-AR approach procedures developed by COCESNA for Palmerola and La Mesa airports have been validated in simulator.
The activity took place on October 27, 2025 at Avianca’s Operational Excellence Center in Bogota, which has certified pilots for flight and simulator validation, as well as state-of-the-art simulators.
The tests were conducted by Captain John Marlon Ferrer (Avianca) and flight procedures specialist Mr. Dennis Orlando Mejía, from COCESNA’s AIM Operations Center procedure design team.
During the simulation tests, excellent results were obtained, reducing the miles flown on the approach and reinforcing operational safety at both airports, reflecting COCESNA and AVIANCA’s commitment to more efficient and safer operations in the region.
