Inauguration of EU – LAC APP project offices as part of the agreement between COCESNA – ACSA and EASA.

San José, Costa Rica, September 28, 2018 — The Central American Aviation Safety Agency, ACSA, inaugurated and made official the start-up of the EU LAC APP Project office, subscribed within the cooperation agreement signed last April between the Central American Corporation for Air Navigation Services, COCESNA, and the European Aviation Safety Agency, EASA, for its acronym in English.

This unprecedented event in the Central American region was attended by the Commissioner of Transport of the Central American Commission for Transport.

European Union, Violeta Bulc, who stated that with this significant act by COCESNA, by granting the opportunity to host the permanent offices of such an important project at ACSA,  cooperation ties will be strengthened between the European continent and Latin America on issues related to aviation safety, economics, training and compliance with civil aviation regulations.

The event was also attended by representatives of the European Union, The project’s implementation will bring about an unprecedented improvement in the aforementioned areas over the next four years and will certainly leave the doors open for future cooperation agreements.
