Mexico City, Mexico, – November 12-14, 2018, At the facilities of the Regional Office of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a meeting was held on the implementation of the Regional Aviation Accident Investigation Agencies, with the participation of Aruba, Bahamas, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Mexico, in addition to the presence via teleconference of Canada and representatives of Caribbean States, as well as COCESNA through the Technical Secretariat.
The work of the States was presented at the meeting, among which the excellent participation of experts from the region was highlighted with presentations by the representatives of Costa Rica, Belize and Honduras, in addition to the participation of Nicaragua in charge of Cap. Carlos Salazar Sánchez, as coordinator of the operation of the Regional Group for the Investigation of Aviation Accidents (GRIAA), presenting the progress made in this area in the Central American region. One of the results of this meeting was the possibility of signing collaboration agreements between Central America and specialists from Mexico and The Bahamas to address any need in the event of an event in the region.
