Eng. Boris Oswaldo Mejía, Aeronautical Surveillance Systems Coordinator, Regional Management Guatemala, was in charge of the facilitation of the SSR/PSR basic radar maintenance course, held at the Ministry of National Defense of Guatemala, from February 25 to March 1, 2019.
The main objective of this course at the end of the training was achieved as the participants were prepared to identify in a general way the principle of operation of the Primary Radar (PSR) and Secondary Radar (SSR) systems and their equipment. Emphasis was also placed on the main recommendations for the maintenance of MSSR/PSR radars.
ICAO documentation and civil aviation radar manufacturers’ manuals were instrumental in supporting the ICCAE instructional material.
