The Executive President of COCESNA, Mr. Juan Carlos Trabanino Aguirre, on June 17, 2019, at the offices of the Regional Management Guatemala, hosted a strategic meeting with the Secretary General of the Central American Integration System (SICA), Dr. Marco Vinicio Cerezo Arévalo and his Chief of Staff, Dr. Olinda Salguero, to discuss issues related to the different legislative frameworks for the development of the aviation sector in the region.
COCESNA was accompanied in this important meeting by Abg. Rita Núñez, Legal Services Manager, and Eng. Giovanni Tobar, Manager of GEREMAC, who also previously participated in the joint work initiative with the Central American Commission for Environment and Development (CCAD), for the de-carbonization of Central American airports.
Mr. Juan Carlos Trabanino, on behalf of COCESNA, as one of the specialized organizations of SICA, presented the important management strategy being carried out before the ICAO, to opt for the expansion of the area of responsibility of the Flight Information Region (FIR) of Central America, in the Pacific Ocean sector, which would allow greater coverage for the provision of surveillance and communications service through the implementation of ADS-C and CPDLC technologies, for the benefit of the Users that fly over that airspace.
