At the reception hosted by COCESNA in Montreal, Canada, on the occasion of the commemoration of sixty (60) years of the presence of the Representation of Central America and Panama at the ICAO Council (June 30, 1959-2019), a very special event was held with the unveiling of the mixed media work “Between Meridians and Parallels” by the Honduran artist Santos Arzú Quioto. The one that was donated by COCESNA to ICAO, for historical record of this important event and two more upcoming events; which include ICAO’s 75th anniversary on December 7, 2019, and COCESNA’s sixtieth (60th) anniversary on February 26, 2020.
The honor fell to Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu, current President of the ICAO Council, and Dr. Fang Liu, Secretary General of ICAO, in the presence of the honorable Members of the Directing Council and the Executive President of COCESNA, as well as the distinguished representatives of the Diplomatic Missions of the States accredited to the Council of this International Organization, ICAO officials, and special guests, who responded to the cordial invitation to share this important act of celebration in camaraderie.
After the ceremonial acts and the presentation of awards, the guests enjoyed tasty snacks and fine beverages, which were the delight of all, and were accompanied by a pleasant musical group, which interpreted recognized melodies of lively Latin music.
A COCESNA promotional video encouraging regional tourism was shown, and valuable corporate souvenirs were given to all the guests, which were part of the closing of a special evening that once again demonstrated corporate support to the Member States, as well as to the Central American Representatives elected by the triennial ICAO Assemblies.
