On May 12, 2021, the Tenth Meeting of Aviation Accident Investigation Specialists (AIG) of Central America took place. The opening words were addressed by Lic. Juan Carlos Trabanino in his capacity as Executive Director – CEO of COCESNA, followed by the words of Cap. Carlos Salazar Sánchez in his capacity as GRIAA Coordinator.

This tenth meeting had the participation of Specialists from Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. On behalf of COCESNA, collaborators from ACSA, CENAMER and GRIAA participated. In the opening remarks, Mr. Juan Carlos Trabanino recounted what the joint effort of AIG Specialists in the region has generated, specifically in terms of the active monitoring, to date, of 26 shift roles, the establishment of collaboration agreements with accident investigation organizations and State Authorities, as well as contacts with the industry and acknowledgments and invitations to important events such as the ICAO Cooperative Platforms project.

Mr. Juan Carlos Trabanino, together with Cap. Carlos Salazar, thanked the work done and urged to continue joining efforts towards the common interest of moving the Central American region forward. Under the coordination of the GRIAA Management, the meeting was oriented towards making the AIG Specialists aware of the proposals for assistance to the COCESNA Member States and proposing future work guidelines, which was well received among the Specialists.
