July 01, 2021-. COCESNA and its Search and Rescue messaging coordination center of the RCC/SPOC/SAR/CENAMER CONTROL, with the punctual and timely support of our Executive Director-CEO Lic. Juan Carlos Trabanino Aguirre, Ing. Roger Perez Senior Manager ACNA, Victor Andrade Control Center Manager CENAMER and our SAR Coordinator Calvin Zuniga Coello; managed to manage the signing of the SAR Operational Letter of Agreement (LOA) with the SAR Rescue Coordination Center RCC of Aeronautica Civil de Colombia (AEROCIVIL); which will strengthen all search and rescue operations especially in oceanic areas of the Pacific as part of our adjacent responsibility with our (FIR).

This activity has been developed over the last few months in different meetings held with those involved, which has reached a happy conclusion that will greatly benefit the increase in operational safety, specifically with aircraft and vessels navigating in this area.

It is worth mentioning that this event is also historic since there has not been an agreement between the two regions since 2007, which provides a timely follow-up since our Corporation, through the support of the audits carried out both to the OIC Member States and the latter to the service providers, evidences the increase in compliance with what is set forth in Annex 12 of ICAO in reference to SAR Search and Rescue.
