September 6, 2021.- COCESNA, through the Central American Institute for Aeronautical Training (ICCAE), begins the Initial ATC Aerodrome course (051/016/ATC TWR) for personnel operating at the nearby Palmerola Airport of the Honduran Aeronautical Agency Civilian (AHAC).

This training event has been designed and is developed in accordance with international standards and practices recommended by ICAO and its contents include basic fundamentals of air traffic control such as aeronautical communications, meteorology, air navigation, aeronautical charts, airspace classification and organization. , phraseology and ICAO documentation.

The objective is achieved through 7 modules that include general contents such as the introduction to the industry, to later deepen the development of the skills to direct movement in the maneuvering area, authorize landings and takeoffs, as well as the transmission of meteorological information. , NOTAM and other related to the flight of aircraft under its jurisdiction.

The design and development methodology of the course is based on the competence approach, being a CMDN of the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS network, so that theoretical and practical activities are included, such as lectures, group work, presentations, simulation exercises. in model, visits to dependencies, as well as a strong component of self-study.

The instructors are ATC specialists with a broad domain of instruction in this field under the competency-based approach. At the end of the course, the participants will have developed the basic skills required in the provision of air traffic control services: direct movement in the maneuvering area, authorize takeoffs and landings, provide weather information, NOTAMS and other pertinent information; that will allow you to perform successfully in the following training courses.
