October 18 -22, 2021.- COCESNA AVSEC-FAL personnel, through the Central American Agency for Aviation Safety (ACSA), participated in the Aviation Safety Culture Workshop developed by ICAO and provided online through its Aviation Security Training Center (ASTC) located in Mexico City. The objective of the workshop was to explain the principles and benefits of an effective safety culture. In addition to providing tools and best practices for the development of a strengthened and sustainable security culture, with the purpose that personnel have the knowledge, skills and abilities to convey the importance of good aviation security practices and their impact on the aviation industry. Taking into account that aviation security is an integral part of civil aviation operations and products offered to travelers and the need as a Central American Region to comply with international aviation security requirements and regulations; it becomes necessary to maintain an aligned security culture that supports business goals and security.

Participation in this type of workshop contributes to the roadmaps that have been drawn up through the regional groups, and in this particular case, with the AVSEC Regional Group of Central America, for the taking of comprehensive practical actions by the COCESNA Member States, to develop and organize campaigns for the implementation of safety culture and safety awareness programs, ensuring the intervention of all stakeholders within the aviation environment.
