November 4, 2021.- COCESNA, through the Central American Institute for Aeronautical Training (ICCAE), began the Recurring Observer Aeronautical Meteorology course for the personnel of the Autonomous Executive Port Commission that is in charge of developing the airport infrastructure of El Salvador, The participants are Meteorologists who provide meteorological service to national and international air navigation. The course has been designed to update the knowledge of meteorology personnel who perform the functions of Aeronautical Meteorological Observer. Upon completion of the course, the student will be in a better position to carry out constant meteorological surveillance of the aerodrome where he performs his duties, as established in the corresponding international standards for his area of responsibility. The instructor is a meteorologist, aeronautical forecaster (operational) and manager of the Meteorological Surveillance Office of the Central American Flight Region. He has 18 years of experience in civil aeronautics, mainly in the area of forecasting and Aeronautical Meteorology.
At the end of the course, students will be able to carry out ordinary and special aerodrome meteorological observations, in accordance with the standards established in ICAO Annex 3 and the WMO Technical Regulations. According to the Agreements signed between the ATS and MET Authorities, you will be able to coordinate with the Air Traffic Controller of your aerodrome to complete the meteorological observations.
