The Air Transport Decarbonization Workshop “Acting now for the future”, was an activity carried out in coordination with EASA, AESA, SENASA, in collaboration with the European Union within the framework of the EU-LAC-APP project, whose inauguration of this important activity was held on May 11 and 12 by Mr. Juan Carlos Trabanino, DE-CEO of COCESNA together with Messrs. Thomas Mickler, Head of the Department of International Cooperation (EASA) and Mr. Jaime Binder, Secretary of the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (CLAC).
Four panels were developed, being the following:
- GENERAL ASPECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE: OBJECTIVES AND CHALLENGES
- TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENTS FOR AVIATION DECARBONIZATION
- ATM DECARBONIZATION AND OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT MEASURES
- SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUELS (SAF),
COCESNA had an outstanding participation in the presentation “Improvements in the Central American IRF airspace as a strategy to obtain efficient routes” by Eng. Roger Pérez Senior Manager ACNA. This activity was coordinated by the Transportation and Environment Management (GTMA).
Important conclusions and study notes were obtained in preparation for the ICAO high-level meeting on environmental aspects of air transport, as well as the schedule in preparation for the 41st Session of the ICAO Assembly in September/October.
