June 13, 2022.- During the week of May 30 to June 3, the Risk Management Workshop was held at the COCESA facilities at the Central American Aviation Safety Agency; under the organization of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Costa Rica and the ICAO NACC Office. The different National Authorities (Air Surveillance Service, Intelligence and Security Directorate (DIS), AVSEC-FAL Unit of the DGAC of Costa Rica and ACSA specialists) participated. The Workshop was facilitated by Mr. Ricardo Delgado, AVSEC-FAL Specialist from the NACC Regional Office and Mr. Roy Vásquez, head of the AVSEC-FAL Unit of the DGAC of Costa Rica.
Among the objectives of the Workshop were to promote a culture of risk management and establish a coherent approach to assess to manage the risks for aviation security in Costa Rica, in addition to the competent authorities acquiring the knowledge required in compliance with the standards of ICAO for the development of aviation security risk assessments.
