COCESNA through the Central American Institute for Aeronautical Training (ICCAE) held the closing ceremony of the course Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air for Aviation Safety Personnel – Category 12, which was held from August 22 to 23 of this year, in classroom mode at the ICCAE facilities, for personnel of the Autonomous Port Executive Commission (CEPA).
The instructor for this course is an internationally recognized AVSEC Dangerous Goods Specialist.
Methodologically, this course was taught in classroom mode, with a duration of 12 teaching hours, during 1.5 days, composed of 6 instructional modules with lectures, exercises and the use of audiovisual resources.
The purpose of the course was to develop the necessary competencies to:
- Classify dangerous goods;
- Identify dangerous goods labels and package specification markings;
- Enforce provisions for Dangerous Goods in passenger and crew baggage;
- Implement dangerous goods emergency response procedures.
In order to achieve the necessary competencies in the participants, reference is made to international standards, regulations and the IATA Document – Regulations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air.
With the development of this course, our ICCAE Training Center continues training the personnel of the Autonomous Port Executive Commission (CEPA), under the Cooperation Agreement signed between COCESCA and CEPA on the Aeronautical Training and Education Service.
