COCESNA supporting the Management of the Member State of Guatemala through the framework of the One Hundred and Second (102nd) Meeting of the Executive Committee of the CLAC; presented on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 the program of activities for the year 2023.
In the particular case of environmental issues, in line with the strategic objective of the LACAC; to promote coordination between civil aviation authorities and other stakeholders in the aviation sector and promote the work of technical groups to enable the Sustainable Development of the sector in Latin America.
The following activities were proposed:
Promotion of the Alliance on Sustainable Aviation, ALAS, which includes:
- Within the framework of the ALAS initiative, discussions and working groups on sustainable aviation fuels, SAF and its financing framework, and regional agreements on the subject.
- Postgraduate Program in Sustainable Aviation to be developed jointly with the Training Macro-task and the Latin American Institute of Civil Aviation, ILAC.
- Project for the creation of a regional agreement for the promotion and development of Sustainable Aviation Fuels, SAF.
- Development of a Regional Guide for Avian and Fauna Hazard Management.
- In coordination with ILAC, Green Seal for airport management and its implementation guide.
