Within the framework of the EU LAC APP II Cooperation Project, the Third workshop on the implementation of regional civil aviation standards applicable to Drones (UAS) was held.This event took place from April 22 to 26, organized by COCESNA/ACSA at the facilities in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

It was directed by the EASA expert, Mr. Filippo Tomasello, and included the participation of the Member States of Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. It was carried out in order to train the personnel in charge of issuing licenses, operations, aeronautical registration and/or regulatory development related to unmanned aircraft systems in each of the Authorities.

In this workshop, the proposed draft of the Regional UAS Regulations was validated, with the collaboration of EASA, COCESNA/ACSA and the six Member States, with a focus on the development of comprehensive training events and the drafting of RAC-UAS regulations that align with the three risk-based categories outlined by the Council of the International Aviation Organization (ICAO) in March 2024.
