Querétaro, Mexico – December 4, 2018 – the Central American Corporation of Air Navigation Services (COCESNA) through the Central American Institute of Aeronautical Training (ICCAE), carried out the signing of a cooperation agreement and annex 1, with the Aeronautical University in Querétaro -UNAQ-.
The agreement establishes the project “Technical Training Program in Aeronautical Maintenance with Specialty (TMAE)”, which is part of the master plan that is being implemented within the complex of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of El Salvador, framed in the aeronautical training cluster initiative for the Central American Region.
The project is developed within the framework of the expected growth of the aeronautical industry for the next 15 years and seeks to contribute to the training of professionals in order to provide qualified personnel, sufficient in time, to maintain high levels of safety in air operations, through the improvement of the professional profile and the development of technical competencies in aeronautical specialties.
It is also established that the ICCAE will have the technical assistance of the UNAQ, for the transfer of knowledge in the execution of the project, given its wide experience and recognition as a specialized higher education institution in the training of aviation mechanics.
The project was conceived under an integral approach composed of ten components, with its progressive implementation and under the scheme of competencies established by the International Civil Aviation Organization – ICAO-, starting with the TMAE-Base sub-program in the specialties of Structures, Interiors, Avionics, Systems and Engines.
The implementation of this phase is planned for a gradual 2-year process, which represents a significant contribution to the Central American region in strengthening the aeronautical maintenance workforce and fostering better employment opportunities.
Based on ICCAE’s main strategic commitments, this project also takes into account the regional regulatory initiative to be the first aeronautical maintenance instruction center certified under MRAC’s LPTA 66 and 147, so that its study plans will be validated in the Central American States, generating greater added value in technical training and free mobility of professionals.
