COCESNA signs Annex to the Cooperation Agreement with DGAC of Ecuador for the Supply of Radar Data to COCESNA of Galapagos Island in San Cristobal and Manta in Ecuador.

 Ecuador, September 12, 2018- The Central American Corporation of Air Navigation Services (COCESNA)  and The Directorate General of Civil Aviation of Ecuador,  signed an important cooperation agreement via the Annex to the Cooperation Agreement signed between the parties, which consists of the provision of data Radar to COCESNA of the Galapagos Island in San Cristobal and Manta in Ecuador, which contributes to the to strengthen operational safety and efficiency in the provision of the Air Traffic Service, since it is obtained a radar coverage in the South Pacific zone of the Central America IRF (control transfer zone between ATS COCESNA and Guayaquil). The technical and operational teams of the parties involved are working on its implementation, which is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2018.

These cooperative agreements between States and Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSP)  are promoted by ICAO, which encourages  a COCESNA promotes these initiatives to complement each other’s capabilities, This will strengthen aspects of flight operations control transfer between CENAMER and the FIR of Guayaquil, Ecuador, facilitating the implementation of AIDC functionalities for automation in the transfer of traffic between dependencies, LHD (High Altitude Deviation) risk mitigation aspects, improved airspace management among others.

COCESNA within the framework of this cooperation agreement will support the DGAC of Ecuador, in terms of capacity sharing in the management of invoicing and training. that, The second Annex to the agreement will soon be signed, which refers to the supply of the SAR System developed by COCESNA, which will contribute to search and rescue management in Ecuador and to COCESNA’s positioning of its products and services in South America.
