Attending a cordial invitation from the Concessionaire Palmerola International Airport S.A. (PIA), with the purpose of knowing new advances of the International Airport Construction Project at the Palmerola site, in Comayagua, Honduras, on September 17, 2019, Lic. Juan Carlos Trabanino Aguirre, Executive President, accompanied by COCESNA officials; Ing. Gabriel Quirós, Director ACNA, El Ing. Ernest Arzú, ACNA Deputy Director, Eng. Wimer Flores, Station Manager Honduras, Eng. Wilfredo Lobo, Executive Director of the Honduran Civil Aeronautics Agency (AHAC), AHAC officials, Honduran Air Force (FAH) officials, Military Aviation Academy (AMA) officials, representatives of the Project Oversight Agencies and the joint Military Air Base, visited the Palmerola site in Comayagua, Honduras.

In addition to a tour of the current works in progress, the visitors were briefed on the project’s expectations by the civil works managers and concessionaires.

The objective of this project of the Government of the Republic of Honduras is to provide the country, as of the last quarter of 2021, with an international airport that complies with international safety standards and certifications, providing attention to the users of passenger and cargo transportation services, thus allowing to increase competitiveness by having a first class airport infrastructure as required by national and international aviation.
