In September 2019, in the cities of Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula, different induction sessions were held for all COCESNA personnel, who, with instructions from the Executive Presidency, were called by the Human Resources Management and the Mutual Assistance Fund (FAM), to learn about the scope of the new additional benefit of affiliation to the Honduran Social Security Institute (IHSS), as well as the improvements contained in the reforms to the regulations for the strengthening of the FAM.
With the decision to incorporate the personnel working in Honduras to the IHSS, and to project the analyses to incorporate the employees working in El Salvador, Nicaragua and Guatemala, in the respective health regimes, COCESNA reaffirms one of its commitments with the Employees, since the purpose of social security is to guarantee the human right to health, medical assistance, protection of the means of subsistence and the social services necessary for the achievement of individual and collective well-being.
One of COCESNA’s commitments is to “Ensure thehealth and well-being of all employees and implement practices to minimize the risk of occupational accidents.“
