In Belize City, on Friday, January 17, 2020, took place the signing of the Contract for the “Supply of materials and equipment, logistical support, training, installation, integration, testing, commissioning and certification of a primary surveillance radar (PSR)”, integrated to the existing and operational secondary surveillance radar (SSR) for the Terminal Area (TMA) and Approach Control Center (APP) of the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport, serving Belize City and the State of Belize. Goldson International Airport, which serves Belize City and the State of Belize.

For the signing of the contract between COCESNA and INDRA were present: Mr. Lindsay Garbutt, Director of Civil Aviation (DCA) of Belize, Officials and Technical Staff of the DCA and special guests, Mr. Fidel Gonzalez and Mr. Jorge Parker of Indra, and for COCESNA; Mr. Juan Carlos Trabanino Aguirre, Executive President, and Mr. Juan Carlos Trabanino Aguirre, Eng. Luis Aké, Regional Manager Belize. This event was also covered locally by the media.

Thus giving compliance with Resolution ROCD 219.161 of the COCESNA Board of Directors, dated December 18, 2019, held in Flores, Petén, Guatemala, with the purpose of improving surveillance and operational safety services, also providing greater confidence in air traffic management at the international airport by strengthening the ability to identify aircraft of different operators, both in azimuth and distance, in accordance with the provisions of Doc. 4444 Air Traffic Management (PANS-ATM).
