On February 20, 2020, the COCESNA delegation composed of Mr. Juan Carlos Trabanino Aguirre, Executive President and Eng. Gabriel Quirós, Director of ACNA, accompanied by Capt. Carlos Velásquez Monge, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Capt. Gerardo Berganza, Advisor of the DGAC of Guatemala, visited AIREON, followed by a working meeting with AIREON’s CEO, Don Thoma, and other important officials, with the purpose of discussing the topic of space based on ADS-B technology in all COCESNA Member States; Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Implementation and deployment will be completed within a few months.

AIREON provides the first-ever global air traffic surveillance system using a space-based Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Based Automatic Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) data transmission network that meets stringent real-time Air Traffic Service (ATS) surveillance requirements for air traffic separation services anywhere in the world.
