In response to a cordial invitation from Dr. Dante Mossi, President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), on January 29, 2020, with the presence of Ms. Catherine Chang Carías, CABEI Director for the State of Honduras, and on behalf of COCESNA, Mr. Juan Carlos Trabanino Aguirre, Executive President, Mr. Juan Carlos Trabanino Aguirre, Eng. César Núñez, Project Manager, and Mr. Alfredo Santos Mondragón, Internal Secretary, had the opportunity to visit CABEI’s headquarters in Tegucigalpa, and to learn about the current administration’s openness to provide information related to the possibilities of development projects of regional interest that could be considered for joint work.

Some of the topics discussed arose from the interest in contributing to the reduction of operating costs that facilitate domestic, regional and international air transportation, the possibilities of financing for renovation projects or improvement of airport equipment, which will be discussed in detail in subsequent meetings with CABEI officials in charge of private sector management, public sector management and Country Head, with officials from the administrative-financial and technical areas of COCESNA.

Another issue was related to the lines of financing and low interest rates available, considering that even though COCESNA’s work is well known, as a regional integration organization that is self-sustainable, it has also been a very interesting reference for CABEI in its operations for the past 60 years.

For both institutions, which share interesting histories of six decades of work for Central America, the meeting was of great benefit and an important link was renewed to address future projects of benefit to regional integration.
