Juan Carlos Trabanino, COCESNA’s Executive President, activated the Contingency Plan on Friday, November 13 of this year, in view of the arrival of Hurricane IOTA. Today, November 16, a meeting was held with the technical and administrative areas, following up on all the preventive measures that have been taken to safeguard the employees and the equipment or systems under COCESNA’s responsibility at the Central American level.
The following are some of the measures taken to safeguard and guarantee the sites or facilities where COCESNA’s equipment is located at the Central American level:
A. They have been provided with fuel in the event of possible power outages and/or destruction of access roads.
B. Securing infrastructure that is prone to damage from wind gusts or flooding.
C. Continuous on-site monitoring (guards) and through remote monitoring systems to continuously review the performance and status of navigation, communications and aeronautical surveillance systems.
D. Availability of alternate communication links and redundancy system in general.
E. Constant surveillance of the sites affected by the recent Hurricane ETA.
Likewise, instructions were given to the personnel of the countries that will be most affected by the passage of the weather phenomenon to perform teleworking tasks in order to safeguard the physical integrity of the collaborators.
