In December 2020, COCESNA successfully completed the project “Replacement of DVOR/DME Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua”, which is part of COCESNA’s Comprehensive Investment Plan and consisted of the acquisition of equipment, civil and electrical works, installation, commissioning, OJT and commissioning, the latter carried out by COCESNA’s Inspection and Evaluation Department.

The installation and commissioning activities were carried out by technical personnel from the Nicaragua Station Management.

The project was executed by the Nicaragua Station Management under the administrative responsibility of Eng. Marco Zelaya; Eng. Héctor López as local manager and the support of engineers Rodolfo Rosales, Kurt Busehy, Milton Zeledón.

The renewal of this equipment ensures the quality of the radiated signal by providing reliable information for both domestic flights and en-route navigation using this radio aid.

The Nicaraguan Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) and COCESNA personnel were thanked for the implementation of this project, which is highly relevant for the strengthening of operational safety both at the Puerto Cabezas Airport and the international north-south and south-north overflights that use this radio aid.
