On November 19 of this year, COCESNA held a virtual meeting with FAA officials and representatives of the Civil Aviation Authorities of the Member States. The meeting was opened by Mr. Nicholas Reyes, Director of the Western Hemisphere for the FAA and Mr. Juan Carlos Trabanino, Executive President of COCESNA.
The objective of the meeting was to explain, on the part of the FAA, the technical assistance process that it will carry out to the Member States as part of the Agreement entered into between COCESNA and the FAA. This assistance will focus on two important aspects:
Training of technical personnel (including theoretical and on-the-job training). Technical advice on compliance with ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices, based on the 8 Critical Elements.
COCESNA, based on this agreement, plays a very important role in the management of the assistance process, through joint work with the participation of ICCAE and ACSA.
The following are the topics discussed at the meeting:
• Technical support overview.
• Definition of the FAA-COCESNA-EM contact points.
• Provision of information by the Member States in accordance with the tools provided by the FAA.
• Filling out and delivery of the FAA-IASA Checklists by the Member States.
• Timeline to comply with assistance activities.
