On February 24, 2021, a meeting was held with the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Costa Rica (DGAC), in conjunction with the Executive Directorate – CEO of COCESNA, the Central American Agency for Aviation Safety (ACSA) and the Management of Information Technology (GTI) of COCESNA, where the presentation was made on the launch of the new Regional Aeronautical Information System called SIAR EVO, a software tool that will be replacing SIAR 3.0, which is currently in use in the Civil Aviation Authorities of the Region and external entities.

In the same participated, Lic. Juan Carlos Trabanino Executive Director – CEO of COCESNA, Luis Miranda Muñoz deputy director of the DGAC, Cap. Alejandro Mena Manager of ACSA/COCESNA, Information Technology Management Lic. Karim Álvarez; as well as the Inspectors of the different areas of the Aviation Authority.

This launch meeting of the SIARev System in Costa Rica is part of a socialization process and starting point to promote and execute a series of activities for the implementation of the system, which will contribute significantly to strengthening the automation of operational safety. , streamlining management in the DGAC of Costa Rica, promoting the concept of digital offices and facilitating management in ICAO, FAA audit processes, among others.

During the presentation, key factors of the new system were highlighted based on the needs of the Member States, the use of new technologies and programming standards oriented to the web environment and the establishment of a unique infrastructure to optimize the resources and effectiveness of the system. COCESNA will be developing and implementing the concept of an aeronautical cloud to enhance technological capabilities in the region and other interested parties, which also contributes to strengthening issues of economies of scale, efficiency, cybersecurity, infrastructure availability, avoiding duplication, among others
