Virtual Meeting, May 27, 2021.- COCESNA, through the Regional Air Accident Investigation Management (GRIAA), participated in the first meeting of RAIOs and Investigation Coordination Mechanisms organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The meeting was attended by ICAO, the Director of the Air Navigation Bureau, the Regional Directors of the ICAO NACC, SAM and MID Offices, as well as the Head of the Regional Unit for Cooperation and Technical Planning of the ICAO and the Deputy Director of the Air Navigation Bureau, in addition to the representatives MAK/IAC from Russia, ENCASIA from Europe, BAGAIA from Africa and ARCM from South America, all investigation bodies and/or coordination mechanisms for investigation of aircraft accidents. aviation.
The meeting, which was directed by Mr. José Odini, from the ICAO Regional Unit for Technical Cooperation and Planning, focused on presentations from the different organizations that shared their experiences and made known their way of working and contributing among themselves. the member states.
The participants were interested in the project and willing to work on the consolidation of the Terms of Reference for the establishment of the Cooperative Platform, whose objective, as presented by ICAO, is to contribute through the exchange of experiences, to the strengthening of existing RAIOs and Cooperation Mechanisms and assist in the establishment of any RAIOs or ICMs so that they can be more effective and efficient in supporting their States.
