Virtual Meeting, September 08 to 10, 2021.- COCESNA, through the Central American Agency for Aviation Safety (ACSA), participated in the world symposium on aviation safety organized by ICAO, within the framework of the celebration of the year of culture of Aviation Security (YOSC) and commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The different expert panelists presented in 3 sessions the advances and innovation in security during COVID-19 and the challenges that the industry has had to face to maintain the security levels necessary for the efficiency in the development of operations.

The changes in the aviation security culture that have been achieved in the last 20 years and the continuous search for better training practices that strengthen the security posture and the security culture of personnel, have contributed to strengthening measures in terms of aviation security.

The presentation of these advances and experience of the authorities of the countries worldwide, as well as industry operators; opens new challenges for the region and COCESNA Member States, in order to evaluate and adopt methods that can be used for the implementation and development of Civil Aviation Security in Central America During the pandemic, the aviation community had to learn to adapt with reduced resources and constantly changing limitations.

This scenario has not been foreign to our region, which has had to face the challenge by taking advantage of the available means and capabilities. This represents one of the great challenges for Central American countries, in the search to be proactively prepared for future emergencies
