Friday, September 10, 2021.- At the COCESNA regional station in Guatemala City, a significant technical collaboration agreement between these two important institutions of the Central American Integration System, SICA, came to life.
The aforementioned agreement is fundamentally based on the application of the Central American Policy for Comprehensive Disaster Risk Management (PCGIR), mainly in the following joint axes to.
a. Disaster risk reduction in public and private investment for sustainable economic development.
b. Development and social compensation to reduce vulnerability.
c. Disaster risk management and its relationship with climate change.
d. Territorial management, governability and governance and Disaster management and recovery.
Likewise, the collaborative spirit of both institutions to carry out cooperation and technical assistance activities that make it easier for both institutions to achieve their objectives in terms of comprehensive management of disaster risk in the civil aviation sector, which allows the transfer of information for disaster prevention, coordinated support in the event of aviation accidents and incidents in the region, and the strengthening of regional capacities in aviation and disaster risk management.
Said agreement was signed by Mr. Juan Carlos Trabanino Aguirre, Executive Director-CEO of COCESNA and by Mrs. Claudia Herrera Melgar, Executive Secretary of CEPREDENAC, this activity was attended by officials from both institutions. Agreements like this lay the foundations to improve risk management in the region, thereby helping to increase operational safety in Central American aviation.
