November 2, 2021.- COCESNA, through the Central American Institute for Aeronautical Training (ICCAE), began the Fauna and Bird Hazard Control course through the Central American Institute for Aeronautical Training (ICCAE), taught to the personnel of the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics of Chile, which is a body dependent on the Chilean Air Force and which is in charge of the country’s aeronautical safety and the national airport infrastructure. The course is aimed at personnel working in operational and administrative positions involved in risk management due to bird hazards and wildlife at aerodromes. The purpose of the course is for the participant to be able to formulate, implement and/or supervise plans/programs for the management of risky fauna for aviation, effective and appropriate to the operations, habitats and fauna species of the aerodromes where they develop. their labors. It consists of six (6) modules: generalities and planning tools; hazard identification and wildlife risk assessment; implementation of risk management tools for birds and other fauna; registration and notification of incidents with fauna; training and awareness and finally, evaluation and monitoring. The methodology that will be used are master classes that include videos, case studies and small class workshops. The instructor is a biologist specialized in the subject and with a command of virtual instruction techniques.
Finally, the Central American Institute for Aeronautical Training (ICCAE) has collaborated and will continue to do so to strengthen air operations with the aim of being a reliable source of aviation training resources.
