April 18, 2022.- COCESNA, through the Central American Institute for Aeronautical Training (ICCAE), closed the ATC Procedural Approach course, which was financed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under the Central America Partnership Funds. The course was held from February 21 to April 8 of this year, in face-to-face mode at the ICCAE facilities, divided into two groups, made up of personnel who aspire to obtain the Approach Control by Procedures qualification, belonging to the Directorate General de Aeronáutica Civil de Guatemala (DGAC), Belize Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), Honduran Civil Aeronautics Agency (AHAC) and the Executive Autonomous Port Commission (CEPA) of El Salvador. The participants stated that the content of the course met their expectations and that the content provided them with the knowledge related to the application of rules, techniques and procedures of the Approach Control Units by Procedures, which will allow them to perform successfully in the phase of practical instruction in the workplace (IPPT). During the development, exercises were carried out in the virtual approach control simulator.
The modules were taught by instructors who have extensive experience in air traffic control procedures and in the area of instruction.
