COCESNA through the Central American Institute for Aeronautical Training (ICCAE) held the closing ceremony of the Basic Instruction for Airport Security Personnel course, which was held from August 8 to 19 of this year, in classroom mode at the ICCAE facilities, aimed at personnel of the aeronautical industry in the AVSEC area of the Central American region.

This course is part of the ICCAE Academic Offering of the Airport Security Course Program.

Methodologically, this course lasted 80 teaching hours, during 10 days, varying between synchronous activities that facilitated the interaction between the instructor and the participants.

The purpose of the course was to train the personnel who are to perform AVSEC functions, to execute the activities related to their position, through a training that includes all aspects related to airport security, and they were also trained to communicate and collaborate with other security agencies, control the movement of people and vehicles, monitor and patrol vulnerable airport and aircraft areas and facilities and services, recognize weapons and explosive/incendiary devices, inspect/register passengers and baggage, react to emergency situations at airports and finally, escort people and shipments.
