COCESNA through the Central American Institute for Aeronautical Training (ICCAE) held the closing ceremony of the ATC Approach by Surveillance course, which was financed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under the Central America Partnership Funds.

The course was held from August 8 to September 23 of this year, in classroom mode at the ICCAE facilities. The participants who received this course belong to the COCESNA personnel of the CENAMER Control Center.

This course provides the knowledge related to the application of standards, techniques and procedures of the Approach Control units using a surveillance system and allows participants to perform with a higher probability of success in the practical on-the-job training (IPPT) phase.

The course included practical exercises in the virtual surveillance approach control simulator. At the end of the course, participants demonstrated the correct application of speed adjustments, vector guidance techniques, aircraft separations, arrival and departure sequences, and bilingual phraseology.
