COCESNA, through the Central American Agency for Aeronautical Safety (ACSA), carries out the Discussion on Operational Safety and Aerodrome Certification at its facilities, from April 18 to 20 of the current year; as part of the EU LAC APP II Cooperation Project that is carried out with the support of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), with the collaboration of the Costa Rican Civil Aviation Authority.
This activity consisted of a series of meetings and interviews with experts from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of Costa Rica, in order to diagnose the degree of certification and supervision of airfields in the region, as well as the degree of compliance with the design standards of these airports and the degree of implementation of the Aerodrome Manual and the Safety Management System (SMS) in them.
The above, to identify the best alternatives for cooperation within the project, with the purpose of increasing the degree of certification of airports in the region and consequently the safety of operations.
