Mr. Juan Carlos Trabanino Aguirre, Executive Director – CEO, held an important participation in the economic integration table of the second inter-institutional articulation conference of the Central American Parliament with the instances of the Central American Integration System (SICA), held on the 29th. May of this year, in the city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
At this event, Mr. Trabanino expressed the importance of the international aviation sector in the Economic Development of the Region and explained the support role that COCESNA provides in terms of operational safety, air traffic services, aeronautical training, investigation of accidents and incidents. and the initiative presented to the ICAO for the expansion of the area of responsibility in the Pacific Ocean, which would increase the Central American FIR by 40%.
Likewise, the Environment Manager of COCESNA, Eng. Giovanni Tobar, shared the joint initiative with the Central American Commission for Environment and Development CCAD-SICA, “Promoting Climate Risk Management and the Reduction of Carbon Emissions in the Region” , which is based on enhancing emissions mitigation mechanisms in nature-based solutions, as a vital element for the environmental sustainability of the international aviation sector.
The Honorable parliamentarians, through their president, Dr. Silvia Polanco, celebrated the institutional development of COCESNA and its contribution to the progress of the aviation sector, which results in a better quality of life for the Region.
