The Central American Air Navigation Agency was created when the Central American States delegated to COCESNA the provision of international air navigation services in the airspace of the Central American Flight Information Region (FIR). The boundaries of this RIS have been previously established by regional aeronautical agreements.
ACNA has technical offices in Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, with the responsibility of providing AIM, ATM, CNS and In-flight Inspection services. Its headquarters and Area Control Center for radar surveillance (CENAMER ACC) is located in the city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
