Central American Air Navigation Agency

The Central American Air Navigation Agency was created when the Central American States delegated to COCESNA the provision of international air navigation services in the airspace of the Central American Flight Information Region (FIR). The boundaries of this RIS have been previously established by regional aeronautical agreements.

ACNA has technical offices in Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, with the responsibility of providing AIM, ATM, CNS and In-flight Inspection services. Its headquarters and Area Control Center for radar surveillance (CENAMER ACC) is located in the city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

COCESNA, founded on February 26, 1960, is the specialized agency of the Central American integration, which provides air navigation services, through the Central American Air Navigation Agency-ACNA, constituted on June 1, 2001, its current Senior Manager is Eng. Roger Peréz, and the main offices are located in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. From where the following services are managed:

  • 1. Air Traffic Management - ATM

  • 2. Communications, Navigation and Surveillance

  • Aeronautical Information Management

  • 4. In Flight Inspection
