MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER - CEO

“I declare that my love for Central America dies with me”, with great emotion, I make my own these words of Francisco Morazán, who lived, fought and died with the ideal of unifying the Central American States into a single homeland.

An ideal that, 63 years ago, was materialized by the founders of the Central American Corporation of Air Navigation Services, COCESNA, who had the vision of an airspace without barriers, without seams, without borders.

In the year 2023, we celebrate COCESNA’s sixty-third (63) anniversary, it is easy to say, however, getting this far has been an arduous journey, as it is no secret that during this time our region has gone through different geopolitical, social, natural, economic and other events, the most recent being the COVID 19 global health crisis, which reduced air operations by more than 90%.

Nevertheless, these obstacles have strengthened us as an organization, and with our faith in the Divine Creator, the leadership and commitment of the Board of Directors, and the tireless work of our employees who have faced the constant challenges, changes, and evolution of the international airline industry since the Corporation was founded, I can tell you that today, with our heads held high, we have overcome this ordeal, which represented the greatest crisis in the history of aviation, and that we are stronger, more united, and prepared to face the challenges of this changing environment.

The father of Scientific Management, Frederick Taylor, said: “There is always a better way to do things”, this thought has led us to lead the Corporation under principles of continuous improvement, permanent professional training of human talent, as well as the modernization of equipment and infrastructure for the provision of the different services provided by COCESNA in each of our Member States.

COCESNA is committed to the implementation of its strategic planning, which allows us, among other things, to ensure that our operations are safe, efficient and of the highest quality standards. This undoubtedly positions us as a reference organization for Central American integration in the region, which is a source of pride in contributing to the development of air navigation.

It is important to express that, first of all, I thank God for allowing me to be part of COCESNA, the Board of Directors and our collaborators, who together form a solid work team moving in the same direction to achieve our short, medium and long term objectives.

I make my own these words of Henry Ford, whose phrase I mentioned on COCESNA’s 60th anniversary, which are the foundation of our leadership: “Coming together is the beginning. Staying together is progress. Working together is success.

“GOD BLESS YOU, BLESS COCESNA AND OUR REGION”.
