In the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, August 5, 2025, in an act of great relevance for regional civil aviation, today was formalized the signing of the “Coordination Agreement between the Central American Civil Aviation Authorities of the Member States of COCESNA, for the Certification and Surveillance of ATM/ANS Service Providers”, with the objective of strengthening the joint certification and surveillance of air traffic services (ATM) and air navigation services (ANS) providers.
The event was attended by the distinguished presence of the Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Dr. Juan Carlos Salazar, NACC/ICAO Director Christopher Barks, as well as the Directors of Civil Aviation of Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, signatory States of the agreement.
This important milestone took place within the framework of the 13th Meeting of Directors of Civil Aviation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (NACC/DCA/13), consolidating the regional commitment to safety, technical cooperation and regulatory efficiency in air navigation services.
COCESNA’s Executive Director-CEO, Juan Carlos Trabanino Aguirre, and Capt. Alejandro Mena, Manager of Aeronautical Safety, participated in the ceremony and reaffirmed the Corporation’s integrating role.
