“If I knew the world was ending tomorrow, I would, today still, plant a tree.”

Martin Luther King

We see them as symbols related to nature and ecological balance. Trees have long sheltered us with shade, built homes, provided us with food, and an important reason for life such as oxygen through the process of photosynthesis.

With the production of oxygen they also eliminate carbon dioxide, which is essential to breathe cleaner air, the strength of their roots strengthen and protect the soil from erosion, protect us from the wind and its effect to regulate the climate is notorious as when we are in the middle of a grove or outside it, different sensations without a doubt.

For 51 years, every June 28th, World Tree Day has been commemorated, since it was established by the World Forestry Congress in 1969; which serves to remind us how essential these living beings are in our lives and in the life of the planet.

GEREMAC and COCESNA’s SIRP motivates everyone on this date not only to remember it, but to be part of an interesting activity of social responsibility, to adopt a tree and learn with the infographic provided on “Gardens at home”, an interesting initiative that can also contribute to have a beneficial harvest in every home.
